I participated in the National Science Foundation’s Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program hosted in The Ohio State University on Resilient and Sustainable Infrastructure Systems for Smart Cities (RSISSC).

Under the Geospatial Data Analytics lab group, I determined the feasibility of creating a synthetic dataset using existing 3D assets to train AI/ML models. I presented my work at the Summer 2024 Consortium Research Symposium.

Housing Research Assistant

September 2022 – May 2024

West Chester, PA

  • Researched academic and professional literature on real estate discrimination and redlining.
  • Coded datasets with tens of thousands of entries using a self-designed semi-automated Python script.
  • Mapped, organized geospatial data with ArcGIS Pro and conducted data analysis and interpretation.
  • Summarized legal documents.
  • Reviewed literature on real estate taxation mechanisms with a focus on gerontology and aging-in-place.

Arts Holding Hands and Hearts (AHHAH)

Coatesville, PA

  • Collaborated to write and present a grant proposal for “Step Up, Step Out, Make A Difference,” an after-school leadership, empowerment, and self-care program for at-risk girls in Coatesville.
  • Reviewed literature on urban youth, including incarceration and juvenile justice, mental health, educational issues, and living/social conditions for another grant proposal.
  • Assisted with fundraising events and art exhibitions.

Sociomobility Researcher

September 2022 – May 2024

East Lansing, MI

  • Researched social concerns and inequities associated with Electric Vehicle Infrastructure.
  • Conducted a multidisciplinary research project with engineering and computer science students.
  • Enriched a Public EV Charger Dataset with Census demographic data mapped throughout Metro Detroit to determine charger distribution in relation to income and race/ethnicity.
  • Analyzed and interpreted statistical data from a survey administered in Detroit, Michigan.
  • Presented a poster titled “Plug-in Problems: Assessing the Feasibility of EV Charging Stations in Low-Income Communities.”
  • Contributed to a report titled “Opportunity or Betrayal? The Promise and Perils of Electric Mobility,” which examined the socioeconomic implications of Electric Vehicles.
  • Conducted data analysis, literature review, and case studies.

Organic Gardens and Outdoor Classroom Intern

  • Coordinated management of 3 campus gardens with other interns.
  • Maximized agricultural output through scheduling crop plantings and harvests.
  • Employed sustainable horticultural practices to reduce ecological harm: composting, non-chemical pest control.
  • Established multiple communication channels to maximize community engagement through social media.
  • Organized volunteer events with community members and local organizations.
  • Collected data on harvests and donation channels.

Young Naturalist Intern

  • Removed invasive species throughout multiple city parks.
  • Engaged with local experts, learning about Green Infrastructure and Ecology.
